Aspergillus versicolor

 

 

PATHOGENICITY: Rarely a cause of deep infection in humans. Occasionally responsible for cases of onychomycosis.

RATE OF GROWTH:  Moderately rapid growth.

REMARKS: Distinguished by its colonies of variable color, usually with a predominantly green tint, its conidiophores measuring over 300 microns and its biseriate phialides. Often reduced conidiogenous structures are also present.
